Informal messaging
Real-time chat between students and teachers, encrypted, no email bureaucracy.
iOS & Android School app · 2024 — 2026
An informal chat for the Gymnase de Renens that grew into a complete digital school diary: messages, grades, homework and school news in one place.
On the App Store and Google Play, Swiss stores only: from another country the app will not show up.
Messagyre started as a simple way for students and teachers at the Gymnase de Renens to talk without the stiffness of email. People kept using it, so it kept growing: grades, homework, school news, profiles. Today it is a full digital school diary, built and run by a student for the school.
Real-time chat between students and teachers, encrypted, no email bureaucracy.
A report card that computes averages on its own and shows where you stand, live.
A shared planner for homework, test reminders and deadlines.
Avatars, bios and class details for everyone at school.
One page for announcements and academic updates.
Data kept locally with Isar, so the app stays fast even without a connection.
A Flutter app with a local Isar database, talking to a REST API written in C# / ASP.NET Core with JWT authentication and a remote MySQL database. I designed and built both ends.
